The programme commenced at 9 a.m. with Miss Ifeyinwa Susan introducing the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) to the pupils of the Progressive Secondary School.
She explained that the foundation was established to eradicate the high level of illiteracy and reading apathy among children. She reminded them that all leaders are readers.
Ifeyinwa encouraged the pupils to embrace their books because education holds the key to unlocking every door of success. She added that education equips individuals with the skills needed to lead and create meaningful change.
“You are the leaders of tomorrow. Judging by the present economy of our Nation today, we need exceptional and selfless leaders. You need education to lead your tomorrow selflessly.” she added.
Some pupils were invited to read aloud from a storybook, and those who struggled with pronunciation were guided through the words. Afterwards, the pupils participated in a question-and-answer session.
Conclusion
Miss Ifeyinwa thanked the school for hosting them, while the Headmistress expressed her gratitude to the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) for visiting and inspiring the pupils.
