The Head Teacher of Youth Technical Secondary School announced the visit by the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) and warmly welcomed Miss Ifeyinwa Susan, who introduced the organisation to the pupils.
During the session, Ifeyinwa emphasised the importance of embracing a reading culture. She encouraged the students to develop a reading habit and make friends with fellow passionate readers, as a means of leading their future and building a better Nigeria.
She enumerated the key reasons why LRF was founded by Babatunde Oladele: to eradicate the high level of illiteracy and address the ongoing reading apathy among children. She urged the students to pay attention to their teachers, create personal reading timetables to encourage reading at home, and to obey their parents and God.
At the end of the session, the nursery and primary pupils participated in a question-and-answer segment to assess their understanding and retention of what had been taught.
Miss Ifeyinwa and Mrs Ifunanya donated books and thanked the school for hosting them. The Headmistress was overwhelmed with joy by the visit and requested regular engagements from the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) To help nurture the pupils’ love for reading and reawaken a strong reading culture with the school .
