Igniting the Spirit of Reading: LRF Visits Star Crown Montessori School

School Name: Star Crown Montessori School, Rivers State

Date of Visit: Friday, 23rd May 2025

Attendance: 100 pupils and over 5 teachers

Representatives of the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF):
Ifeyinwa Susan Francis & Vera Amarachi Francis (Port Harcourt Team)

The programme commenced at noon. Miss Ifeyinwa Susan introduced the pupils to the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF). During the session, Ifeyinwa emphasised the importance of reading, encouraging pupils of Star Crown Montessori School to adopt the spirit of reading as it holds the key to excellence and leadership.

She highlighted the key reasons why LRF was founded by Babatunde Oladele: to eradicate the high level of illiteracy and address issues relating to out-of-school children. She urged pupils to listen to their teachers, make friends with passionate readers, and obey their parents and God.

At the end of the session, the nursery and primary pupils participated in a question-and-answer segment to assess their level of understanding and retention.

Miss Ifeyinwa and Vera thanked the school for hosting them and presented books as gifts for the children. The Headmistress warmly expressed her gratitude to the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) for visiting their school with a voice of revival and free books.
