The Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) Receives Generous Book Donation from The Bookworm Café to Support National School Outreach Programs

On August 8, 2025, the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) received a massive book donation from The Bookworm Café, a prominent online children’s reading club. This contribution will support LRF’s upcoming school outreach initiatives across Nigeria, aimed at promoting literacy and instilling a lifelong love for reading among young learners.

The Bookworm Café, led by CEO Mrs. Farida Ladipo Ajayi, has long been dedicated to nurturing a reading culture in children. As part of her commitment, Mrs. Ajayi reached out to LRF after restocking her library with new titles. She generously donated over 900 children’s storybooks to help advance LRF’s mission of spreading literacy throughout the country.

Mrs. Ladipo Ajayi’s love for books began in her early years, when she devoured any reading material she could get her hands on. Initially, she dreamed of working in a library or bookstore—envisioning a career where she could immerse herself in books all day long. However, as she learned, the reality of working with books is far busier than she had imagined.

Her passion for reading, especially for children, led her to find ways to encourage her own children to develop a love for books. Starting when her first son was just a few months old, she began reading aloud to him. This experience not only deepened their bond but also introduced her to effective strategies for sharing books with young children. These techniques and insights ultimately inspired the creation of The Bookworm Café.

In 2016, Mrs. Ladipo Ajayi participated in The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program and submitted her idea for a children’s book club/library. Her project was selected, and the subsequent mentorship and funding helped bring The Bookworm Café to life—a platform designed to inspire young minds and foster a community of young readers.

The LRF would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Farida Ladipo Ajayi and The Bookworm Café for their incredible generosity. This donation will go a long way in ensuring that more children across Nigeria have access to quality books, helping them become the leaders of tomorrow.
