LRF Receives Book Donation

In a bid to promoting a strong reading culture among children across Nigeria, the outreach arm of the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) launched a nationwide book donation campaign. The initiative called for new or gently used children’s books suitable for pupils aged 6 to 18, sourced both locally and internationally, to support upcoming school visits in Abeokuta, Abuja, Akure, Enugu, Ibadan, Jos, Port- Harcourt, Kano, Abia and Lagos.

Recently, an anonymous donor in Lagos heeded the call by reaching out to the LRF Administrator, Mary Ogundipe and donating two cartons containing 109 books, ranging from kiddies’ storybooks to engaging novels, each one a potential spark for imagination and learning.

To date, contributions from Mrs. Tejumade Oke, Mrs. Tomi Ajayi, Mrs. Olabisi Olasupo, The Book Worm Café, the Association of Nigerian Authors (Lagos branch), Dr. Vincent Nwani, Mrs. Esther Adekoya, Prof. Oyinkan Tasie, Mrs. Toyin Olagbegi, Grand Edge Resources, and Dr. Peace including book donations, virtual library access, and cash donations have supported over 15 school visits across Nigeria.

This school outreach is part of LRF’s broader mission to advocate for mass literacy and promote a vibrant reading culture among Nigerian youth. By providing access to quality books, the Foundation aims to empower children in public schools and low-income communities, giving them a much-needed boost toward academic success and lifelong learning.

By donating these books, the children in public schools and low-income families will have a needed booster for their academic success.

Do you have new and/or gently used children’s books suitable for pupils aged 6-18 that you would like to donate? If yes, we will gladly have them! Please send us an email through outreach@literaryrenaissance.org or contact the LRF Administrator on +2348056745399.
