About the author

Aj. Dagga Tolar is poet and to his credit as author are the following titles: Daggering Boots (1993), Season of Struggle (1997), This Country is not a Poem (2005), Darkwaters Drunkard (2007), Love in the Memory of Pain (2013), Being a Woman Being (2022), Search for the Self (2022), Nineteen Chapters of the New Name… (2022), Nigeria: A Country at the Precipice (2022), LOVEnotes of the UNDERGROUND (2024), Outside this cemetery is not my country (2024), Blinding light of the mind (2025), …the heart is not a republic for politics (2025).

In his stable are completed collections awaiting publication, among include the following: City of Dead Dreams, Black Maria -The hell Highway to Heaven, Tear this Country out of my Flesh, Borderland of Unexistence, In Praise of Death, Death of a Father, Passport of a Country of Words Alone, Lessons of the Living Corpsefies. Hopefully, some of his new titles and collection will hit the print before the year runs out.

He also has to his name musical works like Lps Social Revolution (1998), Underground Uprising (2021) Impossible people (2022) Revolution (2023) Stain (2023). They are all on YouTube and all major online music distribution platforms.

He is a founding member of Aj. House of Poetry a platform for mentoring new minds into the poetic field. He is the General Secretary of the Movement for a Socialist Alternative and has been active over a period of three decades in the struggle for improvement of the living conditions of the working masses. He is a teacher and a trade unionist. He has previously served as Chairman of the Association of the Nigeria Authors, Lagos Chapter and also as Secretary of PEN Nigeria Centre.
