LRF Visits De Shepherd Montessori School in Rivers State

Session Summary
The programme commenced at 8: 00 a.m. with Miss Ifeyinwa Susan introducing the Literary Renaissance Foundation (LRF) to the pupils.
She explained that LRF was established in response to the increasing levels of school dropout, illiteracy, and reading apathy. She encouraged the pupils to embrace their studies and cultivate a love for reading.
Miss Vera added, “To become a scholar, a valedictorian, or a successful personality in life, you must learn how to read. Create a reading timetable, seek help from your teachers and guardians, and read with friends for better understanding.”
Primary 1 and JSS 1 students of De Shepherd Montessori School were invited to read aloud from a storybook, and those who struggled with pronunciations were guided. . Following this, the students participated in a question-and-answer section.
Conclusion
Miss Ifeyinwa expressed gratitude to the school for hosting the event and presented them with a bag of storybooks. The pupils eagerly received the gifts, showing great excitement.
Awards Distribution
6 storybooks and 10 pieces of poetry were awarded to pupils who participated in the reading session.
